MACG’s family-based program, designed for moderate- to low-income families. Participants receive support to help them reach their financial, educational, vocational, and personal goals. MACG facilitators lead families though a needs assessment and goal setting process, provide referrals, and provide workshops on topics such as:
financial literacy
social/emotional skill building
family communication
career and workforce development, and
healthy living
Interrupting cycles of gun violence in Chester. Focusing on youth ages 10-21, GVINE’s essential services include:
outreach to at-risk youth
on-street and in-school violence intervention
one-on-one and group mentorship
individual case management
referral to external providers
MACG’s foundational, youth development program. Staff provide youth ages 8-17 with positive adult mentorship, support in developing life- and social-emotional skills, and access to expanded, real-world experiences. We help our young people develop and strengthen key competencies, including:
defining boundaries and expectations
making constructive use of time
integrating positive values
maintaining a commitment to learning
achieving a strong positive identity
Through this initiative, MACG serves as a community connector, sharing important information with Chester residents and addressing critical family needs through its Connected Communities. Recent activities have included:
• COVID Vaccine Hesitancy Outreach
• Census information sharing to promote responding to the 2022 census
• Back-to-school backpack and school supply distribution
• Holiday toy drives
• Food and provisions distribution to address emergent needs
